General Surgical Pathology and Cytopathology - In continuous practice of Surgical and Cytopathology since completing AP/CP residency in 1989.
Experience in community pathology with a variety of settings including
hospital based private practice, military and
Oncologic Surgical/Cytopathology-Career long interest in diagnostic oncologic surgical pathology with intensive experience at
Fine Needle Aspiration - Have performed thousands on palpable masses since 1986,
including but not limited to thyroid, head and neck, breast and immediate
evaluation of Endoscopic US, CT or US guided
aspirations. Taught FNA prodedure and evaluation to pathology residents for a
cumulative of 6 years
Gastroenterologic Pathology- Of special interest to me since 1989. Known for excellent service and
consultation with Gastroenterology. On a daily basis, I provide the level of
service and expertise needed to attract GI clientele, have been doing so for
many years.
Teaching and Outreach- Teacher of the Year Award, and consistently rate
very high on teaching. Frequent chair of committees and clinical care design workgroups, and
have spoken to Medical Technologists and statewide Pathology Assistant
meetings. CPC presentations are highly regarded in Gastroenterology, Tumor
Board or Mortality and Morbidity Conferences.
Interested in using the internet and web sites for teaching and
outreach.
Laboratory Director- I am AP/CP certified, experienced Laboratory Director and CAP
inspector and Team Leader. Proficient with
general Clinical Pathology including blood bank, laboratory management, fluid
cell review, blood smear reviews, malaria preps, SPEP interpretation and immunofixation, and basic hematopathology
including bone marrow and lymph nodes.
Involved in the selection and implementation of laboratory informatics.
